Setting up my PIN for Tims Mastercard

Once your Tims Mastercard has been approved and you’ve reviewed and accepted the agreements, you'll be asked to create a PIN for your new card.

Please follow the steps below to set up your PIN:

  1. After you've been approved for your Tims Credit Card, you'll be asked to confirm your shipping address.
  2. On the next screen, you'll be asked to Set a PIN.
  3. Create a PIN and then confirm it by entering it again to ensure there are no typos.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the PIN change by visiting an ATM within 7 days and using the new PIN to access your Tims Mastercard account. You do not need to withdraw any money, simply accessing your account is enough to complete the process.

Always protect your pin and try to select one that is easy to remember but hard to guess.

  • Avoid obvious number combinations such as “1111”, “1234”, or “9876”.
  • Avoid dates that others may know or easily guess such as those related to your birthdate, anniversary, street number, or those of a close family member.
  • Use different PIN numbers for different uses (such as your different financial accounts).  Having a different secure PIN for each of your important accounts reduces the risk that all of them are immediately accessible if just one of them is compromised.
  • Try using the word method: some people find it helpful to think of their PIN as a word.  View it as if you were dialing it on a landline, with each number from 2 to 9 representing a group of letters. For example, the word “ball” would be “2255”.  For many people, it’s easier to remember “ball,” which leads to recalling the numbers associated with it. If you use this method, it’s best to use as uncommon a word as possible so that it is unlikely to be guessed by someone else.
  • Don’t write down your PIN. It is better to forget your PIN than potentially expose it to others because it has been written down.  If you need to write it down, then you may have to bring it with you - that makes it more likely that others nearby will see it.
  • Don’t share your PIN with anyone. If you forget your PIN, immediately get in touch with a Customer Support Representative. Never email your password to anyone. If you suspect your card or password has been lost or stolen or your account has been otherwise compromised, call Customer Support immediately.

Note: Alternatively, you can confirm the PIN change on your card by making an in-store purchase with your card and PIN within 7 days. You may get an "invalid PIN" message up to 3 times and have to sign for the purchase instead. Don't worry, this is expected when finalizing your PIN change in-store. You'll then be able to use your new PIN moving forward.

If you do suspect fraudulent activity, please contact Customer Support immediately at 1-855-505-1964.
